Need advice on Fabric

Good afternoon!

I am gearing up to put together a Mego Trek Neptunian. I see that I can order the parts from Dr. Mego - but I have so far found no resource on getting anything close to the right fabric to sew the outfit. Any suggestions on where I could get some of this fabric? If not, any good ideas on how to accurately (and adequately) reproduce the scale pattern on simple Lt green material?

This is the only thing keeping me from really getting started on this figure. I've already reproduced the backer card, and am ready to order parts - -but the idea of displaying a 'nekkid' neptunian just isn't quite my cup of tea....

Any advice is very much appreciated!

Doc used to have a scale bodysuit on his site, maybe he still has or can get/make them. Can't hurt to ask him.
