Looking for opinions on some Vikings:

    Yo everyone,

I'm wanting to put together a Viking, as a follow-up to my Teutonic Knight. I'm torn between three different looks. I'm looking to see the mood of the community.

#1--This guy seems to get a lot of "Oooooos" and "Ahhhhhhs." While most people would think "Viking" when they first see this image, I think this is from our more mythic ideas of what Vikings were. Though, he has a lot of "cool" appeal. The axe, however, is a bit over the top. I would probably give him a more historic axe and give him a shield.

#2--This guy is historic. He would fit "better" next to my Teutonic Knight. The history teacher in me likes this. The action-figure-guy in me thinks this might be a bit boring.

#3--This one has a couple more options. I think I'm more apt to go with the guy on the left, rather than the dude on the right.

Let me know what you think.

If it matters, all images are used without permission.

#1 or #3. The over the top element will equal whether you're going for "toy" viking or "historically accurate" viking.

I like #3 is the best. The first one leans a little towards Thor and that mythological appearance, while the second looks more like the Templar Knights. I think the third one reads closer to what most would consider to be a traditional look.

Agreed. 1 looks like he would be cool to hang with Thor.

Nothing says 'viking' more than #1

I like the guy in #3 myself.

Vikings were a rough-housing bunch who were nowhere as neat and clean as they were depicted in Hollywood. Especially not in battle.

I like 3-left (more rustic colors). But maybe he could still have helmet-horns .

2 looks more like a bad guy for the Knights line.
