    Mego beards:

    Yo all,

Are there techniques for putting beards on a Mego head? Is it even practical? I'm not looking for the GI Joe look, from back in the 70s, but something much longer--one that lays over the chest. I've seen the tutorial on putting hair on bald head, but would that even work for a realistic looking beard?

    Thanks a bunch.

If it doesn't have to be real hair then I would try Glow in the dark fabric paint from walmart, when it dries its like vinyl sort of rubbery, I make mego hair on bald dudes.

I have a pretty cool system of putting on body hair/fur without the figure turning out like an insane porcupine. Hit me up and I give you a few tips.

I haired up my Cornelius and he looks fabulous. Same thing would work for a beard. It's fussy but not impossible.

use fake fur and use clear drying fabric glue. work in layers, wait for first layers laying down other layers on top...start from the bottom and work up. I believe rabbit fur also would also work for the scale.

Jess, I am going to give this a whirl, one question. DO I start from the back and work my way toward the hairline? Seems logical to me.

Yes, as that's how wigs are constructed...start from the back and work to the forehead. Lay your fake hair down the way the hair would grow naturally. Because I wanted Cornelius's hair to look like it's combed back, I adjusted the angle of the hairs as I glued them down.
