Help needed - breast plate identification

I'm working on a Buck Rogers in the 25th century custom Hawk. He has a black breast plate.
I saw the following Batman custom figure, that has exactly the plate, I need

custom 8'' mego batman robin - (eBay item 220173638265 end time Nov-23-07 00:02:44 PST)

Does anybody have an idea, where this plate is originally from? I contacted the seller, but he doesn't want to share that information.
Is the Batman logo embossed in the plate?

Just looks like someone spray painted the front half of a torso from a wrestling or He-man type figure

      Paul's right, it's a vintage He-man Torso, i'm using one myself for a custom.

Some of the dollar stores used to have wrestlers that basically used the heman body, but it was the thin air blown like you would expect.
I was thinking they might be easier to use than a real He man because you could easily cut them with a knife or scissors
