How do you remove paint from a Mego/LJN head?

I've been trying to piece together a captain figure for my classic SWAT team so I decided to get the Talbot Ninja figure that used the same head mold. My only problem is they painted an indication of a scar on his temple. You can just see it in the auction I won on the link below. Is there anything I can apply that will remove that paint without damaging the head itself? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

use a cocktail stick with a little bit of paint thinner on the end.

You might be lucky and able to scrape it without using the thinner though.

I suggest a Qtip with a bit of NON accetone nail polish remover...that usually works for me.
