    New mego vehicles!!!

You might say these are works in progress as I still want to do more on them. First up is a mini helocopter. Now most here refer to traditional mego vehicles as "Bumpercar" style well this would fall in with this ideal as good as possible.
the objective was to take this Americans Plastic bought at Wallymart...

and hack it enough to get this...

That really gives that bumpercar look doesnt it? I hoped they would have other colors so as to work with other megos (Batman needs a sky ride ya know.) This is leaning more to the Action Jackson line. I used the prior posted mystery cop uniform and packed a helmut with felt liner so it wold fit the head. ***I would suggest this for any head gear so as to protect hair paint***.

Next up is a vehicle with a better fit. Be warned it is a Fisher Price mini van.

Still this vehicle need a little tooling. I trimmed the seats and dropped about 1/4 of an inch. Just to give a little more head room. I hope this photo shows the alteration well enough.

I was thinking of making this into a Mego Ambulace but that isnt feasable. So I'm open to ideas. Anyone gotta idea what to do with this mini van?

Put receipts and books and assorted papers all over the dashboard so it looks like it's driven by someone who is 'driven' to that kind of silverfish madness

It looks like a Mego Smartcar. It's great for the European heros.

Thanks H-girl. those seem like some great thoughts.

I noticed not to much feedback reguarding the Bumpercar helocoptor. Oh well. my hope is to inform fellow megoheads as to possibilitys for raw vehicles materials. And hopefully someone will take the tip and do it bigger and better.

You could try painting it yourself in whatever color you want.

Hey, if the Batlab and Jokermobile are VW mini-buses, you can't really complain about a tricked out mini-van!

The helocopter is that soft vinyl type. Most paints fail to bond to it. Even that Krylon fusion paint (designed for plastics) failed to work. I found this out trying to make adventure team vehicles out of knock off pink Barbie vehicles. I found for softy vinyl rides. Its best to find them in the color you need rather than paint. The van on the other hand is the more rigid plastic and should be more easily painted without chipping or flaking.

Looks like i'm heading to Wally-World. That van rocks! Mount some guns and barbed-wire on it and you could have one heck of a urban assault vehicle

                        Hmmmm....

I like the urban assault vehicle idea! Use those plastic net bags oranges come in for the screening across the windows. (Spray 'em black forst.) To me, the minivan looks like the vehicles the local "Nerds on Call" drive around.

As for the copter.... with a bit of work it'd look a lot like the 80's GI Joe Cobra Fang vehicle. Maybe I should get a few for the Cobra Nekkid patrol....

                          Those look pretty sweet.
I think with very little alteration you could turn that van into a Frank (AKA the punisher) Castle Battle van.

The chopper is so bad - EXACTLY the way mego did it!!!! I love it!

                            Good work on both conversions.

I never did buy the idea that batman would drive a tricked out VW bus but for the Joker that was great.

                              Hmmm... would sanding it help?
