Don't feel bad Chris. I knicked myself pretty good working on this Aqualad custom. I slipped and sliced my middle finger on left hand. This is for sure turning into a high risk hobby.
Super glue is an amazing thing when you want to get back to the project.

Wow, this sucks. Go to the Dr, get it stitched. As for taking $ from the family you'll just have to make and sell a few extra customs! Joking aside,you and your family will suffer far more if something which could have been preventable happens to your hand. It was an accident, not like you planned to slice yourself.

Superglue is handy for superficial cuts, but this sounds much more serious.

Also, be aware that antibiotics are tailored--ones to treat a sinus infection, for ex, are not helpful for a staph infection.

You do NOT WANT staph in this cut!!! And you really should get a tetanus shot as well.

Just concerned . I've seen some pretty awful stuff.

You know your body, you probably have patched yourself back together too. Dont let anybody freak you out. You got a second opinion with your wife.

On the other hand I have been called a dumbass by both doctors AND dentist for doing Home Repairs.

I had a finger cut in a canoe accident on a rusty antique car. It was freakishly deep. Everybody was amazed at how fast I healed. I did eat a lot of dirt as a kid. Helps your immune system.

Thanks for all the advice on it...I am a little worried about it to be honest...I had the wife clean it out and re bandage it yesterday..When she redoes it today .,.if It looks like its not healing right I am going to go get it fixed right. The money for the doc is the main reason for not going. Really didn't want to cost the family money for my mistake. I am supposed to get insurance in the summer from what my boss tells me...I will be so happy to be able to go to the doctor again and not worry about the cost. Thanks guys for the concern. Please be careful when using some of the tools we all use to customize.

Probably repeating what most have already said. Get ti checked out at the Hospital. Just because you think its OK doesnt mean that it is. Nerve damage severed arteries Minor or major. Infection, Metal flakes that may have been left inside and cause future damage. Loss of mobility to injures limb. I mean what else can I say. Please get it checked out. PLease Please Please

I was cleaning a deli slicer and caught the left side of my right hand pointer and it just slid in about a quarter inch. that was the second time the machine cut me. however that was almost 10 years ago and i didn't have it looked at. i still have pains and wierd feelings in the finger to this day. GET IT CHECKED.

It sounds like nerve damage and I had a cut like that. They did manage to sew up what they could on my pinky on the left hand but the not all nerves were saved. I think you should get it looked into.

Ouch. I know the feeling. Was working on a custom for my son and had a small precision screwdriver in hand trying to pry something loose in the palm of my hand. It slipped and went all the way through my finger from one end out to the other. Managed to scrape the bone with it. I didnt tell the wife so she wouldnt worry. I cleaned it twice a day and in the end it was fine. It hurt like heck though for a long time. I am the same way. Took me a while to go to the doctor after I fell and had a concussion. I ended up still going a week later and just got the bill the other day for $3800.

no joke if the cut is down to bone the risk is infection into the bone and losing your finger!! insurance or not go to the hospital. ED has to treat regardless of whether or not you got the insurance to pay. superglue works great on superficial wounds. if you don't believe me check my profile. Good luck!
