Need Help with my Super eSses!

Like with this thread: Mego Talk - View Single Post - Variations on Batmans Symbol, Emblem, Chest Insignia What-have-you

I have been putting together a collection of Super Symbols and I know I'm still am missing a few. I need some help from the Peanut Gallery to help me find more.

I'm obviously missing the "Superman Returns" shield (I already did one, but I've misplaced it on my drive) and Abrams' "Superman Flyby" (just got the image this morning), and I'm thinking of adding some of Bizarro's symbol's too.

          hiya doliittle,

could you number them and give a source for each one. Be nice for those of us who are not fully versed on these many different incarnations.

Most of the first three rows come from this site: Superman's Symbol, Shield, Logo, "S" and its History!

...with the exception of the Mego sticker (3rd Row, 2nd In) and George Reeves (3rd Row, 3rd In) symbols.

              Starting on the 4th row:

Superman Red, Superman Blue, Steel, Elseworlds: Speeding Bullets, Justice Lord Superman ("A Better World", Justice League, eps. 37-38)...

Elseworlds: Red Son, "From Krypton to Oa" (Issue #147, 1987), Green Lantern Superman from Elseworlds: Batman - In Darkest Knight, Green Lantern Kal-El from Elseworlds: Last Son of Earth, Yellow Lantern Cyborg...

Kingdom Come, Black Lantern, "Brave New Metropolis" (Superman: The Animated Series, ep. 25), Elseworlds: The Dark Side (Darkseid's soldier), Elseworlds: The Dark Side (Highfather's soldier)...

Eradicator, Kryptonian House of El, Earth-10 Superman/Überman ("Countdown to Adventure" #2), Superman XXX, DC Year 1,000,000...

Earth-3 Superman, Stan Johnson/Tim Burton Superman concept...

Anyone please correct me if I've made an error in naming these. Superman isn't a comic I usually follow.

                I'm still debating this one.

I dun goofed. I did a speed painting competition with a Reaper figure (Reaper Miniatures :: Captain Griffon) and did a white emblem over a green background. He's sitting on the mantle above my TV.

Saw that in the MegoCustom area, but didn't know where it came from.

Yes, but I only have a couple of images of him and I'm researching to find all occurance of his character to get a somewhat complete set of emblems.

                      More have been added.

In honor of Superman's 72nd year this year, I'm trying to get 72 emblems on here. Also, even though there seems to be an order to this collection, I'm actually just slapping them on there and the final version will be random.

Notably the additions are the original Steel (3rd row, first), original Cyborg Superman (3rd row, fourth), Ben Cooper children's Superman costume (3rd row, last), two Superman concept design from the J.J. Abrams "Superman: Flyby" (6th row, third and fourth), "Superman: Metropolis" (6th row, fifth), the two suggestions from LadyZod (6th row, sixth and seventh, MANY THANKS!), and the "Superman Returns" emblem. I also changed the Kal-El Lantern emblem as pointed out by BlackKnight (MANY MORE THANKS!).

What I had a ton of fun researching was the "1940 World's Fair Superman Day" emblem (1st row, fourth) as worn by the first person to portray Superman in public, Ray Middleton. I had remembered seeing a few seconds of film of Superman at the world's fair during one of the comic book documentaries and Googled every combination of "Superman" and "Worlds Fair" before I finally found out some info. When I found some images (all low rez or hand colored) I finally found some nice higher-rez ones that I could get a good look of the emblem to recreate:

                      Comic Coverage: Superman@70: Famous Firsts

It's so similar and yet so unlike all the other emblems and the "SUPERMAN" written near the top of the shield is just beautiful. Remember that not a lot of people knew who or what Superman was and they needed the crowds to identify him easily from the other people wearing a red cape and blue tights at the fair. "Action Comics #1" had only been published two years prior and he had only been in about 2 dozen appearances, and was seen paired with Batman and Robin for the first time in "World's Fair Comics, #2", which were given out on "Superman Day" at the fair.
