    Mego 12"?

I see all of the great work done customizing old 8" and making new 8" megos but I don't see a lot of love for the 12" versions. Does anyone do custom work with them? Or make repro parts for the knees and elbow joints?
    C'mon!
Somebody out there must fiddle with the 12" versions at least a little?

I think the bodies might be a little harder to get ahold of? I've made customs from 12" Max Steel and Barbies but not from Mego's yet. I'd buy repro 12" bodies if they were available though. I find them easier to sew costumes for.

I have some of them, just can't use them as the usual knee/elbow joint breakage exists. Or the grey face syndrome, which doesn't matter as i was thinking of customizing those anyway.

          Hmmmm....

I think it'd be tricky finding 12" Mego bodies, but there are TONS of other ones in that scale. I got 1.5 Mego ones in the works.... one is Violence Jack, who's huge.... so even though he's on a 12" body he's actually an 8" scale figure. The 0.5 one is Strong Guy, from X-Factor. His upper body is a 12" Mego, his lower one is a n 8".

I was thinking of using my SFM Star Trek heads on the 12" Mego using the old ST:TMP uniforms. But the joint breakage issue presents a real problem.

The joint break issue is usually only a problem on the skinny bodies and Hulk knee joints. I have done a few customs like Aquaman 'see avatar' some people would call kit bashing whatever your flavor I guess. But I am working on a few right now hopefully will be done before christmas.

Not for me. I have several 12" Star Trek, Black Hole and Buck Rogers [not to mention a few super heroes] that have all suffered knee breakage.

                  Hmmmm....

I've seen a few muscle bods with breakage: usually along the lower arm elbow joint (same spot a lot of 8" bodies have) and the lower leg, usually under the joint.

Its been mostly the knee joint pegs that break.
