    New custom

Finally finished this one; another of my own characters: Ginger Dolmolic.

    Ginger by ~webley on deviantART

Uses the 7" body, since she's only 5'2".

In the comic she's a witch. A somewhat stuck-up witch:

Here's a creepier pic, that I did during a "respect in the workplace" calss at work:

Ginger was the character I wanted a custom of almost ten years ago. I couldn't find anyone who MADE customs, but I found a bunch of folks who taught me how to make them myself. Funny it took so long to finish.

I have a custom in the works of her arch-nemesis; Rashasi, as well. She still needs a head.

Don, your customs are great, but your artwork is fantastic! I'm extremely impressed with your pencils. Very cool that it all came together during Halloween seeing that she is a witch.

Wow, great work Don! Such a different take on what we're used to seeing here and it's very refreshing to see someone thinking in a totally different direction in this scale. Nice work!

              >Has a very Omaha The Cat Dancer look to it.

              WAY too overdressed.....

Y'know; that's a custom I didin't think of.... and Omaha is one of my favourite comics.

              >she's suppose to be pretty tiny right?

She's short. (5'2" or so.) She usually looks shorter in the comic 'cos Rashasi (her arch-enemy) is about 6'4". (Rashasi is made on a slighly taller body; about 8 and a half inches tall. Or she WILL be; once I finish her head.)

              >Such a different take on what we're used to seeing here

I think that happens 'cos I'm not really a superhero fan, like most of the folks here seem to be. (You should see some of the new body parts I have in the works right now.)

              >Very cool that it all came together during Halloween seeing that she is a witch.

I gotta finish more of the Dimsfort comic. I put all the parts that were done up at deviantart.com. There were three more parts to the current story. (Murder, Depravity and Resolution.) I'd found the old scripts last month so maybe I'll finish them. Then there were a bunch of other stories planned. Such as the origins for both characters, Ginger getting her flying broom, (she makes one after finding out Rashasi has a flying carpet) and a story that demonstrates the difference between their powers. Ginger is a witch: her powers come from evoking spirits. (Although being a MOSTLY good witch she invokes saints more than spirits.) Rashasi is a sorceress: her powers come from harnessing ambient mystic energy through formulas and mystic items.

Don, I hate you Original customs, The Mangler, custom city. When will it stop? I hope never!!! Another great custom, the head sculpt and paints are awesome. If you sewed the dress kudos to you! I always look forward to seeing your stuff. Keep up the good work. Now if we only could get you to set up a sight to sell some of the cool stuff you make!

                            >When will it stop?

Maybe when I run out of room. (I'm getting close.)

                            >Now if we only could get you to set up a sight to sell some of the cool stuff you make!

A lot of folks have been bugging me to put up a site; mostly for the comic. Right now I'm monkeying with the software, but it'll be a bit since me and computers don't get along so well. I do occasionally sell (and especially TRADE) for stuff I make. So if there's something someone's looking for it doesn't hurt to ask. (I'm always looking for bodies.) Sometimes I make stuff people have mentioned in passing too; if it's something I can use for myself.

                            >Did you sew that dress all by yourself?

Yes. And it was a complete nightmare doing so. I kinda shrunk down and simplified a pattern for a full sized costume. (I have tons of fashion books.) Which worked... more or less. Although there were things (like the bloused shoulders) not designed to be sewn by a guy with stumpy fingers. Ultimately it looks pretty good; but the larger collar and the way the seams cut the top are a bit different from the comic designs. THey look more like a doublet; which I may actually use in the comic.

I always love seeing you bring your original comic art characters to life, even if its only in Mego scale. Its an amazing accomplishment to not only create such cool characters on paper, but to give them dimension.
