    gluing plastic to hero boots?

I'm in the middle of my first real custom, a (relatively) easy Moon Knight.
Tried to glue some plastic to DM hero boots, but it wouldn't stick.
I used some crazy glue knock off that's worked for everything else, but no matter how long I held it, it just came right off.
It was plastic strips like you would find binding a bundle of magazines or boxes.
Should I scuff up the boots before gluing? Was it maybe the stiffness of the plastic strip or is there some other glue I should try?

Most super hero boots are made out of polyelthene . a self lubercating plastic.
no glue will will bond to it. you will have to rough up both areas your gluing.
Barge flexible cemment will hold when the areas is rough up
Binding strips are usually Nylon an absorb water and difficult to glue.

        Hmmmm....

Scuffing the area with sandpaper is a good start. I've used superglue with limited effectiveness. Some folks have had good luck with contact cement. (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You gotta do a few extra steps to make it stick right, and most folks skip them....)

I had some luck using "Quick Grip" adhesive for exactly the kind of thing you are describing. Not sure exactly what it is, seems kind of like a hybrid of super glue and rubber cement maybe? May be worth a try.

            thanks everybody for the suggestions!
I will try scuffing up the boots and look into using something other than nylon binding, but worse comes to worst I will try some of the suggested glues.

ok, so I scuffed up the boots and bought some loctite vinyl, fabric and plastic flexible adhesive.
              that did the trick!
and it's pretty easy to get off your skin too.
