Are there any tutorials for restringing a Super Joe body?

Just wondering if anyone knows how this is done and what is used. Thanks!

I haven't been able to find any concrete info on repairing these. At one point I had a couple leads on buying some recast joints but haven't had any follow-up with that in months.
The problem is their construction is unlike many other figures we are used to. The joints (and hands) were molded from some type of plastic that severely deteriorated over time and turns to dust with the slightest touch. I had one original hand and accidentally broke it into 3 pieces before I could make any copies of it.
Either way, any repairs are going to end up pricey even if you find someone selling the repro joints. I don;t think anyone makes the hands although I have been led to believe Castaway Gripper hands are a very close replacement but I don't know if they come in any colors (they never answered my email when I asked )
I have a couple ideas on how to make joints but I don't know what materials to use.
I don't think you can physically "string" them together. Well if you actually wanted to pose them anyway. There might be a way to run string through the pieces but I doubt they would hold a pose like they would with the proper plastic joint.

Here is info from Plaid Stallions SuperJoe Adventure Team I Hasbro I 1978 Catalog I Plaidstallions.com

I wasn't into Joe, but I at one time had Gor and used him as an alien Gorn-like creature vs. the Star Trek Megos. He was about an inch taller or so compared to Kirk.

How did the arm attach to the torsos and heads since the battery pack and light were there? Could you string a T1 or T2 pelvis, legs and arms with the Super Joe Torso and Head?
          It's all good!

One of Hasbro's frequent Oops! ideas...

The best thing about Super Joe is that some of his equipment pieces are repops of the 1/6 stuff.

The 2nd best thing was that it only lasted one year.

Super joe was cool, lots of cool equipment that ran off the power vest, and as a kid the lights in each figure made for lots of fun at night when you were supposed to be in bed sleeping. I wish I had kept my Super joe stuff and transferred them al to mego bodies, at least as much as possible.
