    weathering famous covers goblin glider?

    Hi all! 1st post!
I recently picked up a Famous Covers Goblin figure.
Pretty good detail, except the glider is very bland.
Any tips or suggestions on giving it a beat up, weathered look?
I.E. magic marker, or what types of paints will stick?
    thanks!

Howdy! I'm a painting freak, so I can help you out with this one.

      Pick up the following:

      Can of Testors Dullcoat
      Medium sandpaper or sanding sponge
      Med-soft charcoal pencil
      Small soft brush
Bottle of acrylic silver paint, Delta Ceramcoat, Folk Art, etc.

Spray a coat of dullcoat onto the entire glider. When this has dried, sharpen your charcoal pencil and run it over the sand paper until you have a nice pile of powder. With the dry brush, pick up the powder, and starting at the front of the wings, pull back in nice straight lines. This will leave nice grimy-looking streaks. You may want to do a heavy concentration of charcoal around the exhaust to look like carbon build-up. When you're happy with the charcoal, seal it with another layer of of dullcoat. Clean out the small brush, and using the silver, put lights dabs and such on any corners, panel lines, etc, and it will look like nicks in the metal. Below is a picture of an MPC AT-AT I weathered using this technique. You can also use railroad rust weathering powders if you want any rusty spots on it. Good luck!

Play with it in the dirt and gravel for a while! That should work. Or dry brush acrylic paint. Permanent marker will bleed and spread, so never use it on toys.

Beats my idea of sticking a firecracker on it and lighting it

Nice Paint job of an AT-AT.

I think I would prefer a paint job on an AT-AT more like this:

Well, enyawd72, I'm no expert, but I think it came out ok!

                        NEAT!

What did you use to seal it? Not too much sticks to that kind of plastic.... except Urethane, and it yellows.

It looks fantastic! Was this your first painting attempt? If so, you're a natural!

                          Great job!
