Another Lazy 9" figure: Xmen Movie Famous Covers Magneto!

So I forget what crappy body Toybiz released this squishy head Magneto with removable clothes on, but when I saw them I figured a little articulation never hurt nobody that didn't know their double negatives, so I came up with this little dogtagged gem:

I THINK the original figure was on those crappy 11" elbow/knee articulated figures (here's a loose one on Ebay
if you want to make your own or shrink the head). But the head married very nicely to the FC body, and I think I hemmed the pants with scissors (if I was a real customizer, not just lazy, I would've hemmed the pants for real, but alas, I am capital elle Lazy). Not sure where the boots came from. Plus he gets a nice authentic box with official graphics just for snagging the source figure! Score!

The outfit's pretty sweet; there's a wire in one edge of the cape for dynamic posing, and it velcros to the small of his back on the other side.

Definitely my kind of custom. No muss, no fuss. Again, I can't be the first to have done this, but it's been so long since the source figures have been out there at retail, everything old is new again as far as I'm concerned.

And I'll be danged if it isn't a pretty good likeness of Ian McKellen.

The pictures are better than my last post because I took them four years ago when I put him into storage. But he hasn't aged a day, I swear!

Nice reuse of those crappy figures. I bought one just for the helmet for B'wana Beast.

      Thanks, guys!

I remember seeing the figure at Kay Bee and being mystified at the decision; they made actual Famous Cover figures for the movie; I honestly don't understand why this wasn't one of them. I probably cackled when I finished, saying "Well, it is NOW Toybiz!!!!! IT IS NOW!!!!!!!!" And then my handlers came in with the tranquilizer guns and it all gets kind of hazy.....
