For the older crowd: What do you think?

This question is for those of us that are in the older crowd of 35-50.

If, like me, you were born in the 60's, you will remember the TV show, 'The Ghost and Mrs. Muir', which was based on the movie that starred Rex Harrison and Gene Tierney, which was itself based on the book by R. A. Dick.

Now, my question is, is it possible to create a Captain Gregg head from an existing Ivanhoe head?

I know that Robert Taylor looked nothing like either Rex Harrison or Edward Mulhare, but he's the only really good looking Mego with a goatee in the batch.

The custom would be fairly easy: A Starsky shirt, dark pants, ankle boots and a captain's cap, so that's no problem.

I want to go for at least a smidgeon of believability here, if not credibility.

It's too bad that CTVT doesn't make a blonde or redhead version of Ivanhoe, it would be a lot more believable.

I TOTALLY remember the show. It was one of my favs growing up. Didn't see the movie 'til much later.

Hmmm... yeah, I agree, Invanhoe would work. Should be a pretty simple matter of repainting the hair and goatee with acrylic paint for the better match.

How would you do Mrs. Muir?

Either Dinah-mite (although she's a little too cutesy) or one of Doc Mego's blonde girl heads.

Ma Walton is waaay too stern looking and Grandma is too old, while Mary Ellen is too young.

I'd have to go looking for my Ivanhoe heads, I know I have a couple in storage somewhere. What should I use to get rid of the black hair? Or should I just add red highlights?

Mrs. C might work, I'd just have to make her a blonde.

Where to get a Uboat commander though? Good Lion Rock figures are rarer than hen's teeth on the collector's market.

I checked ebay, and there are three LR figures, but none of them is the Uboat!

I also have issues with the CTVT female body. It tends to be made of crap.

Oh man, I used to love that show! I used to pretend I had a ghost that would appear and vanish that I could talk to. I'm anxious to see this once it's done.

*Sigh* Now to get the parts I need.

I'll have to get a few things from certain places.

Do you think a John Boy cap would do for a captain's cap?

you might pick up a Cap'n Eli for the hat... unless you were looking to do it on the cheap.

I'm getting a black cap from DM. I asked him to file off the badge so that it would be more of a captain's cap, and less like a cop's hat.

If i were customizing an existing head i wouldnt worry about color just make a mold paint a clean cast. this way if its a good'on you could reproduce and sell it )
