Has anyone ever converted a 12 inch Spidey to Magnetic?

I'm looking at my 12 inch Spiderman and pondering why I have no love for it. It's always irritated me that Mego didn't do a version with magnetic hands and feet like Batman and Robin. It's one of the more baffling Mego decisions to me.

Has anyone ever retro-fit one of these with painted hands and feet from a Batman?

That's right, he cast them. But they don't have magnets, what did you do for that? How'd it turn out?

You might be able to customize the magnets. Here's one resource that has them...

I have a set of magnetic hand and feet 8" Spidey figures. I'd just use some batman and robin hands and feet to make a 12" one. Just paint the hands. The 8" ones are really awesome. I also have magnetic 8" batman and robin figures.

I recall Neal Kublan saying that the magnets in the hands were stock magnetic clasps for cabinet doors. Might be possible to find those somewhere. I've seen them in various sizes, and have a couple in cabinets at home - but they're scaled larger than you'd need for 12" Mego Magnetic hands/feet.

With shipping it's like twenty bucks for a pair of hands. Pretty expensive. A used beater magnetic figure would probably be cheaper to get for the hands and feet instead of just the feet.

I don't think he's gonna charge $10 to ship a pair of hands. I'd prefer cast to painted in that case anyway.

I'm not sure what you'd do about the feet?--you'd want to have the magnet under the fabric footie, in which case maybe you don't need the same kind of feet, just a way to attach magnets to the feet that are there?

Steve--what did you do for magnets?

I'm pretty sure he charges nine dollars shipping on any order. Cast hands are great if the color matches and there aren't any air bubbles. And if you will attach magnets to feet already there, why not add magnets to some regular hands? I'd look better than the giant magnets that Mego used anyway.

Oh, I see now, yes, Doc's page says the hands come with magnets already glued in them. Well, that's just perfect! AND He does the feet too.

Ok, now how about a Toyroom box that mimics the groovy box art for Batman and Robin?

Looking forward to this. The box already is a beauty, now for the figure
