    Molding advice needed

I need to make a rear door for a Batlab. My plan is to cut a thin piece of acrylic or pvc board for the basic flat shape, and then I'd like to copy the surface details of the door from one of my mint vans and attach that to the flat piece. I'm thinking I can make a mold of the door surface and then possibly do a push mold from that? I'd rather not get into mixing up resin, I just need to make the one copy, preferably without a lot of mess or fumes.

Any suggestions what to use to mold and then cast?

you could use a two part silicone putty to make the mould thats not too bad and not as meassy as other silicone options, latex is always an option but you would need to build up several thin layers to do it.

As for casting the part if you don't want to use resin the only thing that springs to mind is to make a plastic mother mould for the silicone and prees a two part putty like milliput into it and let it cure.

I haven't tried this my self so I can't atest to the results, but I have heard it does work from some people online

    hope that helps

If some one make a dental stone mold I can suction table drape the piece.
