In this thread, post a reply with a item list of every custom you've made.

If you've made more than one of a certain character just list it with a number and an x. For example - Batman - 3x

We'll break down the variatiions later on.

Me too; and most of mine are pretty unique. Unless someone else has made Gi Dyb, Blue Blade and Funkenstein.

I think what the 'rap is trying to do is get a list together of what everyone has made, and progressively gather pics for each character. Then I'll spend the next 27 years putting them all on the site.

Perhaps using a Wiki would be a good way to experiment with how well the community at large can work together to create this kind of project.

It would save you 27 years of work, and perhaps be applied in further capturing the amount of collective Mego knowledge that tends to flow through here.

It can start with just the customs at first, but expand to sharing tips and techniques, or even some larger Mego historical archive.

It probably couldn't hurt to try?

WIP seems a bit contrary to the point, to say nothing of unreliable and finally massive (like everyone I have 100 or so in progress) ... So I'll just leave them off until they're finished.

A number of my finished ones were contract jobs too though, so they may not be available for ready photography. I know there are a few customizers in that boat. We could grab pics of those in print though.

I've done weapons and elements of at least half a dozen other characters (recently enough that they're quality I'd bother to show)... But that doesn't quite fit theme here either, right? I mean, getting into break-outs like BSG Viper helmet or ANH lightsabers might be cool for comparing - but that's pretty far over the fence.

Also - it was mentioned that people like to search for ideas on design, part modding, etc... where do straight part swapping projects fall in that? Do I list Percival De Champlain, Penultimate Pimp? He's just a Fargas Huggy Bear head on CAT body with CTVT Mysterious alien robe, vintage open front King Aurthur suit, CAT Dr Evil medallion and DM boots, gloves and belt. I didn't do anything except put it together and mod some stitching on the suit. Is that too "meh" from a trade craft perspective? Should we include it to keep things open because it's not just about sculpt bragging? How do group projects like CMonster's awesome stuff and anyone using a third party printed suit like Ed's great work, or a sculpted head or other item (like a Lietner suit as example) get listed out? Which is to say where is the line drawn - is there even a line? Etc.

At a certain point unless someone is one of the custmizers doing every single piece of tailoring and sculpting themselves, then it is a part assembly piece. My most heavily modified body type is Hellboy... even he uses human torch legs and a left arm, plus his chest is a hulk/T2 hybrid. (Ok I just remembered the ToyFare Kingpin is scratchbuilt... but still) Most customs will be just a head and a suit. Part assembly customs also DO seem to fit the spirit of the intention, IE "how could I do this..." questions answered.

Would Percy not make the cut at all because he's not an established print or media character? That kind of thing.
