Help finishing a body

I'm working on a new custom body for a figure and I needed to add a plastic strip to an emcee toys Khan I got cheap, and where I sanded it to the shape of the body the high gloss finish of the figure has been lost, a used one of those fine nail foam things that you use to buff nails to get most of the scratches out, but does anyone know of a good way to get the glossy look back?

Maybe a high gloss clear spray paint. One good for plastic.
