    Painting a Mego Batmobile...

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has attempted to paint a Mego Batmobile. I'm attempting to create a Season one Superfriends Batmobile

    Batmobiles 1973 - 1977

Of course, I don't actually have a Mego Batmobile as of yet, and depending how much I end up spending, I may leave well enough alone.

    Hmmmm....

This'll be tricky, since the plastic doesn't take paint so good. I've had good luck with the Krylon plastic spray paint; but it's thick and you'll need to use several thin coats.

400 grit sandpaper , 1000 grit sandpaper, precleano , filler primer , kylon works realy good . sand it with the 400 first then clean it with the precleano .spray it with primer 24 hrs later sand it with the 1000 the filler primer and the 1000 will make it super smooth
clean it agen with the precleano . 4 light coats of paint will work and then spray it with a clear gloss.. i would take it apart first so your not masking things off.

You might go to Home Deopt and get something called Plastic Paint. It's made by Rust-O-Leum. They make several colors and primers come in white, grey and I think black. It's made to paint outdoor plastic furniture. I used it on plastic salad bowls to make Mego Bridges. It doesn't seem to crack or flake so far. I didn't sand or anything and it all looks good.

i paint cars for a living and i like to build prop kits. filler primer is sold at pep boys $3.99 a can . it has a high build formula that fills deep scratches and minor imperfections its sands realy easy , dries fast and its cheap. works best when wet sanded.

I painted a Mego Batcopter blue. I used a gray spray paint primer which really helped the Plastic Spray Paint adhere well.
