Does anybody make a Sandman DS pistol? I think I've seen some 8" customs from Logan's Run, but I'm not sure if they had the Deep Sleep gun.

I have two of yours. I got them from DaveMc last year at megomeet. They're too big for the 8" figures, though. I was asking to get a feel for the custom market, availability, and interest in one for the 8" figures. I made a couple that I think came out really well. I was just thinking I might have made something others would want to buy. I was going to make a mold and cast some if there weren't any out there available."...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

Here's the one I've totally finished. It's the least best of the three I'm making.
...and a comparison shot with a palitoy one for the 9"-10" figures. Brian's is a little larger than it looks in the picture because mine is closer to the camera.
The middle of the barrel on this one is too skinny. So that is what I altered on the other two and they look much better.Last edited by LonnieFisher; May 25, '10, 7:42 PM.Comment

You should make them... Just because there are some other guns out there doesn't mean that the ones you're making might not suit someone's needs more than the others... Different customs keep the field open for competition, competition which keeps people creating...

Definitely! Just look at how many Batmans there are out there. (Hell; I'VE done one! It's like a customizer's rite of passage.) It's good practice, and making a mold and running a few isn't too resource intensive.
.... 'least not the way I do them. (I'm cheap.) Looking at some of the stuff folks have done around here.... like vaccumn-formers, pressure pots, laser cutters.... lots of people have WAY more technical ability than I do.
Another good example: I can totally see why Brian would want a Mego-esque one. I keep forgetting you guys have seen the actual figures. The only refrences I have are from the movie and tv show.
