There is a thread about this somewhere in Emce. One method is to get a small piece of tubing, cut a slit in it and slide it over the middle elastic bit.

If it's feasible I would just take them back to the store for exchange and carefully inspect the remaining stock for better ones. These have a load of defects associated with them. There have been guys who found them already broken before they even took them off the card.

ive started a pretty good collection of vintage stuff now. so these dont matter as much, i gave them to my son. i only bought them because i couldnt wait for my ebay megos to arrive! and i need a fix of mego'y goodness. so im not gonna fix em' my son will destroy them in a matter of days!!!!
