Baxter Building with Human Torch Flame Chamber

I took so many pictures of this it's all too much to post, so here's a Gallery of images.

I showed this off initially at Mego Meet, but it never got a proper debut in CM, so here it is. This playset uses the corner tower I made for the Wayne Foundation Batpole shaft. I spent a lot of time looking at old FF books trying to make a Kirbyesque art style. It has an illustration I did of the Fanstasticar in the hanger, has the required Mego computer console showing ever possible villain at the same time, and has a Neutral Zone in the lab (which I didn't even realize what it was until Roberto pointed it out to me at Mego Meet, I was just making some weirdo sci-fi lookin' thing...)

I always wanted to do a Johnny Storm Human Torch Quick Change chamber with the transporter. This is a handmade version. As a variation I also installed the transporter directly into the playset which worked out well too. Check out the pics and let me know what you think. Thanks!

                Wow!

This is one cool, cool idea. It could be carried over to a number of different heroes that go through a transformation - Thor, Hulk, etc.

The artwork is flawless. I'm really impressed with this one. It looks almost exactly how Mego would have done it.

Doh! Thanks. Phantom, Neutral, Negative, Red...

Thanks for the kudos, all. Do you think the chamber works inside the building or is it better as a stand alone box?

My only complaint about the box art is that FLAME CHAMBER looks a little like packaging for Spicy Hot BBQ potato chips.

That is without a doubt the coolest display I have seen in a very Loooong time. You are the undisputed master of the mego display world.

Almost EVERY aspect of this display is perfect. Just darn near perfect!

From the cool, Kirby-esque metallic walls, the black bubble-smoke of the negative (the fact you chose a negative zone portal), the shots of Galactus, Doom and Subby (who else) and is that a nullifier in the room? Top all that of with the great 70's feel of vinyl and rivets and you've really captured the Mego feel.

This is really another awesome piece Scott. You should be very proud. I was OK with missing the last Mego Meet until I saw this thread :(

UNBELIEVABLE! How frickin' cool is that?! You are so talented! I like the Torch chamber especially, specifically the Johhny Storm artwork you used. Great work my friend.

Just imagine if Mego had made this, and included an un-flamed Johnny...

It still wouldn't have looked as good as this!!!

                              Flawlessly perfect Scott!!!
