New Retro figures and vintage heads

Will the old Mego heads fit on the recent TRU vintage figures? I have a Retro Superman figure but I don't care for his head. I do have a old Supes head from my childhood.

Due to the construction of the Mattel body, there really isn't enough room for a full neck plug unless you cut it down to be really short. Think like the Fist Fighter heads, but even shorter. If you don't mind doing that, they will fit.

I did this with a Spider-Man head, and the small frame works perfectly for him. However, I don't think that the body works well for Superman's physique. I popped a vintage supes head and boots on a cast-away body with the retro outfit. I'm very satisfied with the way he looks now.

I put a Tarzan had on one of the bodies and I did have to snip the bottom of the neck plug to make it work.
