    Painting heads

I have a DeSalle head from Star Trek on an original mego Trek body. The head is cast white and looks exactly like the actor. I need some help on painting this guy. What kind of paints do I use? What colors should I mix to get that mego color??? Help me out please???

Before you do anything wash your head with mild soap and warm water pat dry and let stand for 24 hours.
I suggest you start with a primer coat.
For paints I use folk art acrylics available at your local walmart for around $1.50 per 2ounce bottle.
Always start darker and work lighter.(example hair, dark brown then highlight with lighter shade.)
I then finish it with a matte finish. To get a more natural look I use a bit of gloss finish on the eyes and lips to appear wet and shiny.I use the same trick for scar tissue as well.
Mixing is a bit tricky it depends on the color of the body you are using castaways are a tad darker than others docs seem to be more orange etc,etc I just mix to match the body I have in hand I do not mix 1 part red 1 part yellow 2 parts flesh tone like others do I mix by eye.
Good luck and have patience it pays off.
