I use a brush on Matte finish on my heads and a gloss/satin finish on the eyes and lips for a wet look.
It comes in a 2oz bottle a wal-mart for about $2.50 I use folk art paints so look for it with the craft paints I have never had a problem.
I usually wait 24 hours before painting my heads with a clear matte.
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”

I've had a lot of problem with sprays such as krylon matt spray going sticky on both vinyl and resin heads. Some times the finish looks fine for weeks and then goes sticky or spotty. After trashing several vinyl customs with it, I'm now sticking with acrylic brush on varnishes such as golden matte or liquitex. You can varnish as soon as acrylic is dry to the touch and there's no chance it's going to react with the paint or substrates like the spray and solvent products that are out there.... You can be really anal and use the higher quality uv protect versions of golden too....
