    The elusive Great White Shark.

Soooo, we have one popped up on eBay being watched here:
    http://www.megomuseum.com/community/...ad.php?t=38145

So, here's a thought; cast it.

Seriously. What is really stopping one of us from buying this guy, and making some type of mold off it?

    It wouldn't damage it.
We could probably make it hollow (rotocast).
We could make the mouth seperate.

Granted, it would just be a static reproduction unless some creative modders here put a motor in it.

But jeez...just imagine how cool it would be.

not to mention, we could just tint the resin grey and make the propeller from red tinted resin.

i've got spare time plans to try and re-sculpt one from the museum pics and cast one. for this very reason. I just like the look of it.

well, I was thinking a bit cheaper, easier route.
I didn't envision making a complete 1:1 clone both inside and out.
Having seen what we can do with silicone molds, I pondered just casting one side, then cast the other side...glue two pieces together. Explore squish molds, or heck, just make it solid (maybe round out the inner mouth/throat)and add the moveable mouth top.

well, couldnt the head be taken off, the openning blocked off with clay then a one piece glove mold made of the body. same steps repeated on the head. then use an almost slush cast variation using resin to obtain a hollow casting?

over simplified, but the gist of the method I was considering using,

it would, in all reality, just be a place holder.

oh for real though, doing a straight-up resin repro of this guy would be a major undertaking as well as a major investment that would result in having to ask a pretty penny for each finished piece.

but my overall lack of decent funds for the last several years has gotten me to the point that I'd be willing to spend a "small" amount for a decent result in lieu of "big" money for an awesome result.

This one is motorized like the original. Just air brush it grey and your done. For a lot less money. They do make one in grey but with black highlights and a really cool looking Hammerhead shark too.
