Is there any type of paint available that comes close to having the same look (sheen) as the paint they used on the horses? I want to repaint the mane and tail of one of my horses to a different color and I'd like it to have at least somewhat of the same look the original paint had... I painted it with some of the paint from Walmart but it looked too flat on the plastic body... Any suggestions?

I think I should have been more specific... I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a brand of paint that is somewhat glossy so (when dry) it might have about the same sheen as the MEGO horses... As I said, the acrylic paint I used was too "flat" compared to the body of the horse and I'm trying to get it to look more like an original paint job..Comment

I use tamiya acrylics. they go on glossy and dry glossy. I usually knock the gloss off with a matte finish sealant. I think they would work great for what you need. You should be able to get them at any hobby store or do a google search for them online.Last edited by Megospidey; Mar 6, '10, 4:44 PM.Comment
