That would sure spruce up the nicely sculpted but colorless non helemeted ape general! As I told her Im biased against the original Ape Soildeier because Mego Museum TOLD me it was a bad head sculpt.
That general was so much better. Three toed boots, sword in a hanger , attatched cuffs instead of mittens . . . . oh the sadness.
Joe Hair has Red ( for Zaius) Black( for gorillas , and white!!!! ( For Mugatu! )
My Sunlamp, disco, albino , unicorn, space monkey is actually going to get even BETTER!
Hmm what other Megos would the Astroturf treatment be deserving of? . . .
How do you actually flock a figure? Do you paint on glue and then paint on the flock?
I used to be interested in learning but unless you do a little side business what are you going to do with the skill and investment?
Start flocking everything? toaster to wastebasket?
Plus teh "exploding hip" story I heard from a taxidermist ( i think ) scared me off. the floccking gun builds up a charge of static elelectricity , too much a charge and some mishap, blew a guys hip off . . course it was just Shop talk . . .
I remember old ads in magazines (from the 60's?) advertising these flocking machines as a side business.
I wonder how hard it would be to find one to play around with? Where do you get the materials? Is it expensive?
Sounds like a fun experiment.

Finally got pictures of my flocked Mego. I picked him up as is on Ebay awhile back. I love how they flocked his eyebrows too.
The funny thing is that my Joe ignorance is so vast that I had to see the below to figure out that I bought an Adventure Team custom, not just a McCoy flocked like a GI Joe.
