    some material like slime?

To keep it short, does anyone know of a material that would go on like hot glue (or acts the same way) but stays "liquidy" a little longer than like 3 seconds?

Like if I wanted to create a figure covered in slime, using hot glue would serve this purpose, but if I had it so that this material is poured onto the figure I would need something that would not be dry by the time it hits the figures head

    does anything work like this?

Don't cover the whole figure and just add the bottoms of the slime drips. I made a Sludge figure and added really cool slime drips with hot glue.

ok here is why I had asked. I came up with an idea I might be running with. Kind of pointless but fun in a way (this was a sent message to a friend of mine) and techincally the figures in this idea below will always look different

"I was watching this insane Spanish horror flick called the Witches Mountain (came in one of those god awful dvd quality 50 pack sets). At any rate this inspired me to create something completely pointless.

(pic is here and explanation of what you are looking at is below)

Not sure how old you are, but if you ever saw Chud when they were rising out of the toxic muck or the two sets from the these toylines: Manglor mountain (from manglords) and the horde slime pitt (from He-man)

I want to create something where you can take a gi joe 3 3/4" figure and turn it into some sort of toxic zombie monster with no real customizing experience.

in the pic you are looking at the side of a mountain. this then goes into a base at the bottom where a small "pool" like hole is big enough for a Joe character. The rock side will have 3 ledges in the front for 3 different colors of paint. I will also need to make another hole for hot glue or similar substance

the toy would work like this. Using tubes and levers you "free" the paint to your liking and this fills/goes into the pool covering the figure to whatever degree. Then another hole would allow hot glue (or if I can find something that works like it) to run into the pool as well. Then you can let this sit for a second or two and another lever will "rise" the figure from the base with all of this **** dripping off him. The glue should try fairly quick so once done you will have this crazy looking monster thing that has "slime like **** dripping off him with some crazy colors.

I know totally pointless and I would have to figure a way to get the hot glue to stay a little warm so it does not cool once it hits the pool part.

then again you can just do the same thing without this set, but I like the novelty idea of it"

that was the long version but now it might help more with material.

      LonnieFisher,
' your sludge character sounds cool. Could you post any pics of him?

What about the stuff used to make those squishy bugs a few years back. I think the toy was called "Doctor Dreadfulls Creature Creature." basically it was metal molds you filled with color goop and dried under a light bulb. The finished "bugs" would be rubbery and squishy.

The Creepy Crawler stuff was a liquid and baked under a 100 watt light bulb so that would probably work well. Pour it on and stick it in an easy bake oven.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I would run into some issues if I used this since it requires heating and it boils down to causing a fire:

              1. the gi joe might melt and burn (though this might be to it's advantage)

              2. the paint or other material used might go up in flames or fume

Greatest stuff in the world. Originally made for shoes but when you gob it onto a figure it becomes the way you want....

YOWZA I forgot about Shoe Goo!! I used to use this stuff all the time on sneakers worn out from skateboarding

Good call and thanks again, that might do the trick

today at work I was also thinking that if I did use something else (like creepy crawlers goop or the hot glue method) to install a light system (stripped from a lamp) in the back (inside) of the base (rock). I turn it on and let it warm up a bit heating the tubes to keep the whatever substance warm. Then again a giant sized hot glue gun (if one was made) could be installed as well. Many ideas and methods flowing

for the rock base I might go with carving it out from Styrofoam and then coating it with zubber, because zubber does not seem to burn

lots of options and unnecessary work for a "base" that is not needed at all to do what I want. Then again if that mentality was followed we would probably not have many "foam/slime toy sets either

                    Right.
Shoo Goo is and can be manipulated to look like anything. I took a regular white based Dr. Mego body and a head and dumped series of random blops of it all over the body for a really neat looking Ice-Man custom. I did this after several different types of white body suits just did not scream the word "ICE-MAN" to me.
I had the Shoo Goo laying around my house to repair my snake skin boots that were spiting down the side near the souls. I never imagined that I would be using it on a custom.

I have been playing with it by putting a drop of oil base paint in it when it is wet and stirring it up. It has been coming out looking pretty cool. Giving it a colored slime look. They key is oil paints. Acrylics will crust up.

I made several "ice weapons" like iceballs and little things for Ice-Man.
A lot of people don't realize that this stuff is out there. I came across it by accident several years ago.
I covered up the toes with gobs of shoe goo to create a look of how his feet appear in the comics. I might take another shot of Ice-Man with a better camera so you can see the neat ice patterns on his chest, arms and legs.

I will post a picture but it didn't really show up from the last picture I took of my Ice-Man. Up close and personal it looks pretty cool with this stuff all over it.

That is awesome! First thought that crossed my mind was adding paint to it's translucent color, My only real concern is if handling it much after it dries, is it still "toxic" for the skin

Right. I'd use rubber gloves. When it is in that wet state, it is hard to tell what **** is happening to your skin or going in your pores.

I mean after it dries is it ok or would it still be harmful in its new hardened chemical state

Doubt it. They put this stuff on shoes to repair them. People touch their shoes all the time.
Now perhaps if you made a gob of it, let it harden and then swallow it, I suppose all kinds of health factors would be a concern then.
