Uhura Custom Question

Would a Playmates 9 inch Uhura head fit on an EMCE Uhura body? Does the head need to be shrunk down. Wanted to know before I try and buy one.

It needs to be shrunk.

It's actually looks fine scale-wise, I made the switch myself earlier this year, it fits well into the Mego plug, but the Playmates neck itself looks too wide when you look at it.

If you had a high neckline on the uniform (like putting Uhura in a Playmates Environmental Suit), you could hide the discrepancy, but in her standard red TOS uniform, you'll notice the difference.

I've used a Playmates head on a Mego body and to me the head is a little too big, judge for yourself.

That head looks grossly big, I totally agreed.

The Uhura head is slightly smaller and actually looked like if fit in well with the other vintage Mego heads (I had her standing next to Spock..), but the neck-size discrepancy was still the issue, although with the darker skin tone, it wasn't quite as pronounced.

The shade of brown was actually very compatible to the vintage body color as well.

Again, sitting here in Kuwait, I don't have all the figs with me to provide pics.

(I actually brought my Mego Spock along...).

I still say the head needs to be shrunk. Too many customs have giant heads and they look pretty "silly" to me. Kind of like a bobble-head.
