[noob] What do I need to build this?

I know it's too late to complete in time for this Christmas, but I would love to put together a Mego version of a close friend's RPG character as a gift. I'm trying to replicate this costume:

As I have no sewing experience, I figure a custom dyed or silkscreened bodysuit is best option. The white area on the belly is no longer present on the current version of the costume, which should make replicating it easier. Boots and gloves will probably be the easiest to source, though I would like their colors to match that on the costume. I've seen pictures of full-mask sculpts around; I'll probably need to add on the exposed hair with Sculpey myself.

I stumbled across this site while looking for resources, and was blown away by the talent on display here. Would any of you be able to offer suggestions for sources and suppliers? Any tips or warnings for a first-time customizer? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think your best bet would be to buy white everything, except maybe boots and gloves. Then dye it as you need it. Otherwise it won't be the exact blue.

That face mask could be made again just using fabric dyed appropriately. However where the best place to get said parts, I don't know.

That would be ideal. I just checked out his homepage and should be picking my jaw off the floor any minute. Unfortunately, I was laid off this year and money's a bit tight. I'm budgeting this project at around fifty bucks, which means I'm probably stuck with DIY.

Yeah, I was thinking a white body suit for the base. I'm think I'm going to have to try silkscreening the blue areas on the torso and trunks and most likely the cuffs. Blue hands and boots should be relatively easy to come by. I'm not too worried about matching the costume colors exactly; it doesn't look like Brian always did for his figures, and they still look great.

As for the head, I wouldn't think of trying to make a fabric mask. I was interested in picking up one of those custom featureless heads, the types you'd use for Moon Knight or the JSA Atom. Then I'd try adding the curly hair.

You know, the more I type, the more ridiculous it sounds.

I do appreciate the suggestions. Please keep them coming!

Contact Brian and ask him a price, you'll be surprised, he delivers quality at a great price
He could make gauntlets out of the same fabric as the suit and all you'd need to do is ad blue hands, like BL did with Robin.

it looks like it would take two hours to make him. at the most. black aj head and clay to remove features. air dry clay about 30 minutes. White bodysuit with tape and blue spray paint. blue boots and gloves. white paint for the face. figure done. simple, simple, simple...

Resin Falcon head would work too with some dremel.
