    T-1 body question

I am going through some parts boxes and was wondering if anyone had successfully replaced broken hands on a T-1 bony?

i ask since have lots of arms were the shoulder hole plastic broke but the hands are perfect. And have lots of figures with just the hand broken off.

so my question is can you heat the hand up and pop it out of the arm and replace the hand like we do with a T-2 body ?

Hell , I am having a hard time popping out hands from T-2 bodies right now. Still haven’t been able to pop an new hand in the arm. I might jus be afraid to break them and not forcing it in enough.

what are the tricks for hand replacement?

I heat water to a boil in a microwave safe glass measuring cup. Soak the wrist area. Pull and pray for T1. I do the same for installation, adding just a dab of dish soap to help the peg slide back in. If you do enough you'll break one sooner or later. If you have a junk arm and are extracting a stubborn hand, it helps to slit the wrist area on the arm vertically. The pin will pull right out. Only do that if you don't care about the arm.

      thanks for the reply.

im not crazy, these are not easy to remove and put back in. Thanks for confirming the fact. I was reading everywhere that it was a simple thing and here I was struggling like an sob trying to pull these out and replacing some hands.

on the broken shoulder socket will take your advice and cut the wrists.

will try the dish soap on that stubborn T2 body I’m working on. Had to use pliyers to get the broken hand out after soaking 5 minutes in hot water.

I keep hoping somebody comes out with a replacement T0 body. I know we are supposed to be happy about the bandless body but the T0 lightness is something I like

I love the old bodies, easy, simple and sturdy. they dont break.

But I also like the posebility of the new bodies.

            its a split for me.

I bought tons of new bandless bodies for customs so hope they hold up.

Figures Toys type S is the best so far for me. I have been using these and they are really play friendly they just need better heads. The Vintage t-1 is my Mego favorite because there easy to re string. The New Mego bandless body is a let down for me . I had Grim Ghost right knee break off right out of package .
