Bruce Banner's glasses in Bronze-Age comics???

    Hey all,

Was Dr. Bruce Banner, the Hulk's A-E, wearing glasses in the comics when the Mego figure was introduced, c. '74-'75?

Any art reference would be appreciated, google searches are scanty. Thanks!

As a regular purchaser and reader of his comics, I can attest that he definitely did not wear glasses in the 70s.
Banner typically appeared only after the Hulk had calmed down in some random spot (Canada, the USSR, the Hidden Refuge, Counter-Earth, Scotland, etc), and he never had spare glasses handy in the pockets of those torn (but miraculously shrunken back down) purple pants.
I don’t have any reference pics, though, sorry.

      Thank you!

But what about as a pre-transformed scientist? He seems to have them in the '60s (covers and 'toon.)

So I was wondering about later, for an A-E custom. Was he a fugitive then, as in the TV show?

Maybe changing into the Hulk made his eyesight get better when he changed back into Bruce. Could be why he didn't have them anymore.

Despite the impracticality of having to buy a new pair of glasses after every Hulk-out, I think that's exactly what happened. Banner also went from a skinny "milksop" to a pretty buff dude, so I think attributing his stronger eyesight and physique to a residue of his transformations over the years makes sense.

Remember how in the live-action series, Banner would always get back his leather shoulder/duffle bag in those lonely man walk-offs? Obviously it was stock footage but it was still odd. Not as crazy as the '80s cartoon Banner's clothing reforming though! I think it should be called the "Manimal Effect".
