HELP!
All right, now that I've got that out here's the problem... I'm molding and casting for the first time using Smooth-On "Dragon Skin" silicone rubber for the molds and their "Smooth-Cast 327" slow-setting liquid plastic for the casts. Now, no matter how hard I try to minimize trapping air during the stirring of the two compounds and no matter how slowly I pour the two compounds and how small I make the streams during the pours I'm being plagued with tons of tiny bubbles in both the molds and the casts... the little heads look like Swiss Cheese! Now, I do realize that this can happen in the molds when you're not vacuum degassing, but I think I'm getting more of them than should be the norm.
Could it be that it's been too humid and that's causing the air to be heavier and there by causing it to get trapped in the compounds more than normal? I know humidity can effect casts when using resin plastics, but I've had no problems with cure inhibition, just BUBBLES and lots of 'em!
So, if anyone can help me out I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I'm sick to death of wasting costly materials and I'm just getting plain irritated!
Thanks!
