    Fabric paint

I am considering modifying a Doc Mego shirt or jump suit with fabric paint. Has anybody done this? Does it look okay or does it look cheap?

Cat (Wrathdemon) has been painting his suits with fabric paint and swears by them. He's posted some photos of his work before.

Dye works better, and looks more like an original suit. If you want to paint or stencil details on, it's not too bad. I've gotten decent results from watering it down and applying it thin so the result wasn't so thick and shiny.

I hate to dye stuff. I prefer finding the exact shade of fabric. I could spend hours at Goodwill and used clothing stores looking for just the perfect fabric with the right weight for the scale. The thrill is in the hunt.

Fabric paint to me looks either really good or really bad. I've seen more than a few customs that its slopped on so thick it looks like frosting.

Thanks, Dye wont work cause its oly a partial area that needs to be a different color. The top 1/4 plus a little bit of the sleeves need to be a different color. A 2 tone shirt.

My best bet would be to cut 2 shirts to make one. I have to learn to sew I guess!

I tried coloring the top of a test shirt with a sharpie and it looks okay except where it bleeds along the edge.
