Attaching and painting heads questions

Ok i'm customizing a dinah figure and need to make her face white.
is there any steps to take before applying paint, that i need to do?
are acrylic paints ok?
would white out work better?

i also need to paint items from Doc Mego, like gloves and belts.
is there anything i need to do to them first?
best paints?

i also took the head off an Uhura and have a solid one to put back on, what exactly do i do to secure it on?

I always seem to have issues when painting the vinyl heads. Never like the results especially after time passes on. I always get a resin cast when I can and go with that. I have this issue with ruining original mego stuff so I usually use the repro bodies available from Doc or at least scrap one of those crappy CTVT female bodies for the neck plug, swap it out, and glue the resin head onto that if I want to use an original mego female body. Resin heads are heavier and will flop over like a newborn baby head if the elastics are loose on the body your using.

I think flat acrylic paints work well on rubber mego heads. Don't use glossy paints, they become sticky.
Use a thin coat, let dry, then coat again til you have a smooth painted area. Then once you are finished add a light coat of satin varnish.

ok Painting question answered, now i really need to know how to attach a solid head onto a regular neck from an original Uhura figure. it's the last thing i need to finish my BumbleBee TeenTitan Custom. PLEASE!! soime help here!
