Help! IN need of photoshop help

    Hi,

I'm working on my captain britain and i need to finish his gauntletts. My problem is that I have a pattern for the gauntletts but don't know how to fit the british union jack onto it and make it fit proportionately. Anyone know how to do this? I would really appreciate the help. I have no real working knowledge of how to do this in illustrator or photoshop.

I don't know what you are trying to do without a visual example but pressing Ctrl+T you can transform any layer and adjust it proportionally or not.

    Hope it helps.

        Okay:

I'm assuming you are working in Adobe Photoshop:

I'll also assume that your british union jack image is one image file, while your gauntlets pattern is a separate image file.

STEP 1: Open both image files in Adobe photoshop.

STEP 2: Click on the british union jack file

STEP 3: Use your highlight tool (that's the rectangular dotted-line tool that appears on the top left of your Photoshop tools panel). Highlight the british union jack image with this tool (click and drag)

STEP 4: Go to your "Edit" drop-down window and select "copy".

STEP 5: Go to your "Select" drop down window. Click on "De-select".

STEP 6: Click on over to the gauntlets pattern file.

STEP 7: Go to your "Edit" drop-down window and select "paste". The british union jack image will appear (as a movable "layer") on top of your gauntlet pattern.

STEP 8: Select your "move tool" (this is the top right tool of your tool panel). Use this tool to position your british union jack image in the general spot where you'd like it to be over your gauntlet pattern.

STEP 9: To re-size the british union jack image to the size you'd like it to be, go to your "edit" drop down window. Scroll down to "Transform". A secondary drop-down window will appear. Select "scale". A scale re-sizing frame will appear around the british union jack image. There will be tiny boxes on the four corners of this re-sizing frame. Bring your cursor to any of these 4 tiny corner boxes. While holding down "Shift" key, click and drag the tiny corner box outward (to make the british union jack image grow larger) or inward (to make the british union jack image grow smaller).

STEP 10: Click on your "move tool" (top right of your toolbox). A box will appear asking if you wish to "Apply Transformation". Click on "apply". The re-size window will disappear from around your british union jack image.

STEP 11: Use your move tool to place the british union jack image in its final position (over the gauntlet pattern).

STEP 12: Go to "Layer" drop down window. Select "Flatten image"

STEP 13: Go to "File" drop down window. Save your work.

        You're done!

        I hope that helps.
