how would you improve a mego figure?

OK, here's the topic for discussion:

If you could choose three, and only three mego characetrs to improve which ones would they be and what would you do to improve their overall Mego goodness?

For me,I would first pick Catwoman because she's damned ugly. Who in the Sam Hill has Orange eyes? I'd prefer she'd had longer hair, better face and somewhere between a black or gray outfit with a batgirls stilyle helmet to the classic version with cape and purple dress.

second choice: Cap America. The head sucks, the suit lacks the sleeves and the red gloves and the boots are all wrong. I'd have made the shiled a bit larger as well.

Luthor. He should have been made in the 8" line. I'll take em as is just smaller

Batgirl. I'd get rid of that damned fire red hair. I'd give her dark auburn hair, and forget that wretched flip 'do. I'd give her all over curls or waves. I'd also put her in a black suit, instead of the ooky grey one.

Next up, Aquaman. He was just so.....so....blech! I'd jazz up his headsculpt a bit, put him in a better suit, and try, repeat, TRY, to make him more heroic looking.

Robin Hood. Make him more like Errol Flynn, deepen the color of the outfit, and make the accessories a bit cooler than they were.

I can't stand the midget Hulk and Thing. I have corrected that problem. I always wondered why they made Hulk a midget. Bad, bad marketing release.
Where they trying to save on plastic?

Cat woman definitaley sucks. I never owned and original one and I never will. I got a pretty decent custom of her in a purple leather outfit. Much better then that crap Mego put out.

What were they thinking?

I would put Mr. Mxyzptlk on a much smaller body, no larger than a teen titan size and definitely NOT make him fat.
I came into this thread thinking it was on how you would improve the original Mego body and my answer on that would be to make the biceps swivel and make the necks be able to move back & forth & side to side (like a GI Joe) plus make some hands that can realistically grip things like weapons, maybe with more flexible fingers so they can fit in trigger holes (like Lone Ranger).

Ok...#1.)The Thing! Make 8"tall...and give him a John Byrne Head Sculpt.

2.)Captain America(ugh...where to begin!)Totally new Head Sculpt, with a strong Jawline, and define Eyes, & Cuffs w/red Hands...and the proper Boots!

3.)Batman...Neal Adams Head Sculpt, Cuffs w/blue Hands. Klingon Boots cut into pointed Batman style.

Last but not least...NO MORE SKINNY MEGOS!!All Bodies would have LJN style Shoulders with swivel Biceps.

1. Captain America - ( I don't mind the silly head sculpt) but 3 easy fixes could have been implemented back in the day. A. Swap hero boots for Red Pirate boots (mego already using the sculpt so tooling was already in place, Red Hands & Tricolor sleeves should be an easy fix (look at all the xtra detail on Green Arrow)
2. Shazam Swap yellow pirate boots for shazam's yellow hero boots & white Cape
3. 2. Titan Speedy in a Green Arrow style ORANGE unform (no rubber gloves use colored hands so he can hold is bow like uncle Ollie)

I totally agree with all of your opinions on these three. They would all rock with the improvements you stated.
Did Batgirl ever even wear a gray suit? No, honestly I really don't know if she did. Well anyway, she would have looked so much better in black regardless.

1. Mxy,... smaller body, witha more comicbooky, Superfriends head.
2. Captain America ,... White Sleeves, Red Gloves & Red Andorian Boots.
3. Shazam! ..Yellow Andorian Boots, & a white cape, with yellow trim, & the Flowers.
4. CatWoman .. for the time,.. I woulda rolled with the Purple Dress, & Green Cape. Like Brian Leitner's.

There are lots of changes I would make now as an adult to make some of these figures more "comic book accurate."

As a kid, however, the only one that really stood out to me as "off" was Hulk. He was so much bigger in the comics...I never understood why he was shorter/smaller than my other Megos.

I didn't own a Thing or I would have thought the same about him as well.

Funny thing, I do a lot of mods like this on existing figures. Main points for me:

-OVERALL: Swivel biceps and squishy hands. (Like the Doc Mego ones.) The only catch: I'd be concerned that the hands would eventually harden and crack.
-Captain America: needs a lot of work
-Conan: Biceps, and an elasticized belt to keep his fuzzy undies up.
-Hulk: Hulk short! Need lifts!
-Trek: Black weapons with chrome trim

Captain America, Shazam, Catwoman and Mxy seem to be the ones most people would fix. Me personally, I would have liked to have seen an improvement on the oven mitts for Batman, Robin and Aquaman.
