    Head painting question

Sorry, I am sure this has been asked before...

What kind of paints do you use on the custom heads? Any info or tips would be great.

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi John -

You can use just about any acrylic paint for resin heads. Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or any hobby store carries them.

Everybody here uses different brands...I prefer Tamiya brand acrylic paints, but that's just me. I also use a matte spray sealant when I'm finished.

Cool, how close are they to the original colors?

I've got a pic of some paints and brushes that I use in the painting tutorial at

            Hmmmm....

I use Reaper or Citadel brand paints on resin heads, for the most part. I have a lot of off brands in weird colours too. If I'm doing a head without a lot of small details I sometimes use spraypaint, or Testors. These tend to be thicker, and tougher to work with if you're using a lot of effects, but the Testor's "wood" colour is a pretty good match for a caucasian body.

When i first started out i used Humbrol enamel paints but i've since changed to Games Workshop acrylics.
