Capt Scarlet was a TV show created by Gerry Anderson the same guy who later would make Space 1999, The show hit the airwaves in England in 1967 and the the USA in the early 70s. It's mostly considered a cult classic. Capt Scarlet is a good guy not a pirate. Capt Black was the shows main badie who i plan to make laterComment

Captain Scarlet! I must say that he is my second most favourite Gerry Anderson character...
Pedigree made a 12" version of him...

Here's the Introduction to the Series!
And the F.A.B. Theme Song.
Although not as good as my favourite's Beginning and Ending Theme songs...90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.Comment

My thoughts have always been to use a SWAT cap with a clear brim painted to match the pic......[/QUOTE] That has crossed my mind and i'll give it a try thanksComment

Pedigree was the company that produced Tommy Gunn. Check out Captain Scarlet's hands: like Tommy Gunn, they are the classic GI Joe hard hands. These Pedigree Captain Scarlet figures are fairly rare and extremely desirable. If you've got time and several hundred dollars you shouldn't have difficulty eventually finding one.
If you're on a budget like me...
I settled for the Vivid Imaginations version...

Since Pedigree was a subsiduary of the late great Marx Toy company, I'm betting that body is more Buddy Charlie than GI Joe....of course Buddy's body was one of the many infamous "rip off" body molds of GI Joe so I guess its tom-ato / tom-otto."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment
