    Repro Bodies

Howdy folks, it's been a while since I was here. I want to make come custom figures & would like to use a state-of-the-art mego body. Somebody had a really beefed-up spidey and sold the bodies but I can't seem to remember where that was.

Looking at this 1/6 scale body kinda got me motivated since it looks cool. I could either enlarge an AJ head for use on this body or try to find a comparable Mego-scale body. Anybody ever do AJ in 1/6 scale?

    What's the latest? THanks!

    Cool figure.

I believe Captain Mego and Type 3 Toys both make customs on beefed up bodies. I'm sure there are more folks doing it here too but I cant remember who (sorry folks!!?)

That's not an overly beefed-up Body in your Picture...I'd say in Mego scale, that the "Cast-A-Way Bodies" are pretty darn close. Especially in the Shoulders & the swivel Biceps.

I don't believe that either Captain Mego Or Type3toys sells their Bodies... At least not their custom ones.

Cast away toys bodies are great but when Dave announces some you better act fast. They sell out fast! I love the swivel biceps for posing.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

Type 3 Bodies! Ah Ha! That's it! I love that idea! There are probably dozens of 1/6 scale bodies but relatively few in Mego-scale (which I calculate to be 1/9 scale).

I'll research Cast Away Toys bodies, thank you!

I guess, what I'd really like to do is improve on AJ. I like everything about him except the body. If you look closely at the AJ commercials on Youtube, you'll notice that they HAD to have cut the string in the body and glued him forward to get him to sit upright like that in the jeep. It's the same in the snowmobile...no way does AJ sit down unless he's been altered. He needs a 21st century repro body!

Yes, the body in my picture is not particularly big, but it's articulate. AJ doesn't necessarily have to be beefed up, he is cool being kind of a shrimp, IMO. That's what was appealing about that body. It was used to make a 1/6 Bruce Lee custom. AJ's head is almost in scale since the 1/6 body is of a shorter person.

Thanks for the info. Type 3, oh yeah!

Dragon made a Hitler youth figure that was a teen body in 1/6th scale. It should be close to Mego size.

At first I was going to be rather bothered by that knowledge, but then I remembered Steve Scout could kick his nads.

The best recipe for me by far is Cast-away torso and arms with doc megos legs and groin.
I love castaway but the lower legs seem to bend out from the knee down.
The upper arm articulation is unmatched though.
I have several castaway bodies and will for sure be ordering more of them.

That's exactly what I did with my Custom Nightwing! Whatever works best right.
