Priming of Resin Heads (specifically BL heads)

I finally have time to do something with all those heads I got from Brian Leitner at Mego meet, so I'm wondering if they need to be primed before I put any paint on them. The heads I have from Austin I've never had to prime and the paint goes on fine, but since Brian uses colored resin, I was wondering if that made a difference and just wondering what other people had experienced.

I would reccomend priming them with an off-white to tan color first.

        I always use primer.

For the Cornelius enlarged Medicom head I purchased from Ian, even primer seemed to flake/rub off. I think it was just too shiny and was not ready to grab any kind of paint. It helped to rub down with some nailpolish remover, and then I added clear primer from a spray can.
