How do you fix "too dark" mego heads?

I have come across a lot of mego heads that are "too dark."
Someone told me that there was an issue with something back then and they caught it and fixed it but some heads were released.

How do you fix the problem? I have been repainting a few of them. Some people have asked me if my Shazam figure was African American.

Of course, the original ones that are worth money you can't just paint. You have to leave them that way but as for the heads I use on customs. Is painting the only way you can correct the dark flesh tone.

Anybodies input would be graciously welcomed!

You could try some bleach on a cotton bud ( Q-tip ) on a scrappy head to see if it makes any difference but i'm guessing if it's something in the plastic itself then re-painting is your only option.

I've gotten a few Superman and Capt Kirk heads that had dark tans, but I've never received any like you describe. Could you post a pic of one?
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
