Muscular Bodies?

Hey all. I know there are sites, Doc & Castaway to name 2, that sell good Mego type bodies. Does anyone sell more muscular bodies? I know there are tutorials that show how to create and modify a mego body to be more muscular, but are there any companies that sell them already made?

there is a member on here. I think type3toys is his name. he has some bodies that are very muscled. some like them, some think too muscular. To each his own. May be what you are looking for.
I'm sure he'll see this thread and respond.

A lot of the newer WWF figures arms and chests look like they'd work, pretty sure there are guys on here using them for body parts.

Most of the more muscular bodies you see on customs are hybrids from many different figures, that have been reworked and recast. I would suggest contacting Black Knight. He's a fine upstanding chap, and might be able to help you out. Also Fred Goodspeed at BlackKryptonite has done some great stuff, but I don't know if he's still offering them.

Fred/BlacKrytonite sells, muscle torso, muscular legs, and a more proportioned pelvis (not sure about biceps...he was working on them but don't know if they are finished...)...there are others but they escape me at the moment...

An alternative for a torso...



He Man Torso presto-change-o : Pop off the arms and head, then saw off the shoulder plugs (not sawn off in pic!). Also snip the leg bands as the legs get in the way.



Using a thin bladed knife (but quite strong) crack open the torso by inserting the tip into the body seam from the waist up to the shoulder, then from shoulder to neck. You then need to saw through the four locator pins shown in the pic, and then use a wide flat-blade screwdriver to pop the middle pin. Pic shows Skeletors guts! Use pliers to twist out the middle 'shelf' and the centre pin. Pincers should take out the pin section quite cleanly. Try not to leave any sharp, raised edges that the banding could snag on later. Use model kit glue (Liquid Poly is one I used) to fix both torso sides back together. A thin line all around the seam is all you should need. This type of glue actually 'melts' the plastic and fuses it back together, so use a couple of rubber bands to hold it nice & tight 'til its set. With it now set, you can sand smooth the seam if it got chewed up taking it apart. Use a smal round stone grinding bit for a drill to widen the neck and shoulder holes - it should be about 11 to 12mm diameter.



Now, you can either glue on a waist ball from a DM body or a broken Fonzie OR there is an easier and much quicker way. Just use a Type 1 waist! You need to widen the torsos waist hole with a round file first, and then sandpaper to give a nice smooth edge. Be carefull here! Doesn't need a lot taking off! Test fit a lot.




There are also other alternatives as well...

Actually I dont sell the custom bodies I make for my figures. But as T-bolt mentioned, a lot of folks are using the wrestling bodies or parts of them with great success. Depending on how much much size you need, the Castaway body is a fantastic choice. What character are you considering doing?

Thanks for all the help. I was thinking of doing Supreme. All the art I have seen of him has these huge muscular arms that I wanted to add.

Yep. Fred is the man. I am currently designing a Hercules figure on his bigger body. I will keep you all posted.
