I think I read about this guy on the web once. He vought a somwhat bland and feature-less batmobile in that scale and had totally customize it. Thing is I think that version also appears in the bonus section on the Batman Movie 1966 DVD with George Barris.
There is a guy named James DeSimone who makes blow-molded plastic vehicles for 12 in. G I Joes. he had some Batmobiles in the same scale, that he had made with Capt. Action collectors in mind. I heard he got a C&D from DC and had to stop selling them.
This looks like one of James's Batmobiles that the guy in the photo customized to utter perfection. He did one heck of a job, it looks awesome!

you're right johnmiic! that's my buddy eric s. he created The Original 1966 Batmobile website the ultimate site about the 1966 tv batmobile. after building that project, he donated it to george barris who later included it in the batman movie dvd. george being the ol story teller that he is states in the bonus section that the model was used as a prototype in designing the original car. lol
Here is a link to the batmobile for 12" figures. It looks like James is still selling them. I now realize that it's not the same as the one that started this thread, but I was working off of ten year old memories of it.
It is built tough as heck so you guys might want to look into it for your larger Dynamic Duo.
