iron-on fabric paper

Hello fellow members,

Does anyone have any experience with iron-on fabric paper by avery?
I was looking at their site and thought this would be perfect for applying custom emblems or the entire front and back of a costume. Any ideas or comments would be great.

I know it doesn't stretch. It would work for emblems quite well though. It will rip if your not careful. Tried doing some black/blue shorts for a Phantom figure once and they looked great until you tried to put em on. Keep it small and sweet, ie: a Green Lantern emblem would work great, Superman too, but trying to do Firestorms full uniform would be tough because it would have to be stretched and would be to big. They also make one for whites and one for colors. The white one does not show up on colors, or was it the other way around? Can't remember which I used but basically got a shiny outline of nothing when I tried to cross em so read the package when you get it. Be sure of the type of printer as well because ink types matter too.

I just left target and saw the one for darks and whites. I watched the video on avery.com and it showed the iron on stretching whenthey pulled it. I see what you mean about firestorms outfit. I will be ordering a couple suits and I will try it then.

I used the kind for dark shirts (I just like that kind better) on my Rick Springfield custom. They've also come up w/ stretchable iron-on fabric. I haven't tried it yet, but I bought some. I'll let'cha know.

I'm not sure how the iron-ons would work on shiny fabric like spandex though.

Where do you get this item? I'm wondering how to do the "ghost" tunic emblem for Dr. Strange.

I saw that demo for the stretchable kind on avery.com. I found these at target, walmart, microcenter and michaels.

Basically any computer supply store that sells that sells printable materials should have it.

The Iron on emblems work fine on lycra. just avoid hitting the lycra too much with the hot iron.

I tried that method for a custom Peter Davison pair of pants, but just finding a similar patterned fabric at the store would work much better. The paper just didn't have a clean finished look to it..
