Removing paint from a rubber head

Hey guys! Quick question, if I were making a custom with a standard mego rubber head, like Mister Fantastic's, or Wonder Woman's, could I remove the existing paint with nail polish remover or paint thinner? Would this damage the rubber in any way? Thanks in advance!

Acetone will work, put some in a glass jar and while wearing gloves, dunk the head in there briefly. It will loosen up the paint. If you soak it for too long, it will soften up the plastic and eventually cause the head to shring and get less pliable.

Acetone is the active ingredient in most nail polish removers. It's the stuff salons soak fake nails in to remove them. So if you want to just try nail polish remover, it should work, as long as the stuff you get has acetone. I don't know about paint thinner, I've never tried that on a Mego head before. Do you have any junk heads that you could test it on?

Walmart also has straight acetone in its nail polish section for a buck or so.

Soak it in Pine-sol. Takes paint right off, but doesn't harm plastic.
