    BratPack customs?

Has anyone tried customs from Rick Veitch's satiric, perverse BratPack
    miniseries?

Might raise few eyebrows, but potentially interesting. It was a B&W book, so choosing colors could be a challenge as well.

^^^ The real Daredevil ain't that obscure. BratPack is one I've considered, Midnight Mink and his "chum" would be interesting.

Thank god you're referring to comic characters... When I seen the title of your thread, I thought you were after customs of the "young Hollywood" actors from the 80s...

With so many other unneccessary customs out there, it wouldn't have surprised me...

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. I finally read that last year and loved how twisted it was. Customs would be cool!

Edited to see how many more times I can work the work "cool" into my post. I stink.

I have all the Brat Pack books. Very twisted stuff. It wasn't all that satiric. More of an insider's view of how comics are really thought of by most companies. Some of Rick Veitch's ideas are way out there. He was spot on in this book and his True man stories. It was a black and white book, but there are some color pics. I have some in an old back issue of Hero magazine.

I've always had plans to make me a set. I have most of the ideas already worked out.

Here's alittle know fact: Rick Veitch pitched his Brat Pack idea to DC first. All the characters are take-offs on DC heroes: Batman/MidniteMink, WonderWoman/Moon Maiden, Superman/Trueman.... This would have been one of the first ElseWorld stories. They wouldn't touch it. But today they embrace hack writers like Frank Miller.

I was thinking Midnight Mink & Chippy, too.

BatmanGuy, you're right about BratPack critquing comics industry while also lampooning comics traditions/conventions.

I always thought Veitch wrote it to savage DC after they refused to publish one of his Swamp Thing stories.

Grant Morrison's Earth 2 reminded me a bit of this series. His treatment of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika borrowed from Bratpack a bit.

I don't remember that--what arc/issues of JLA was it in? Did Owlman have a sisdekick in the Syndicate?

The Crime Syndicate would be cool customs, too.

^^ It was a one shot. The WW CSA member really reminded me of the Bratpack version.
