Question to Collectors and customizers about the JLA

Ok after seeing some very nice customs of Justice League of America characters here and around. i have been wondering.

Just how many of us want or are trying to get a complete collection of Leaguers for our collections? and :

How many characters do you consider you need to be complete?

i was gonna stop around 8-10 but to me a complete league is 16. members before Crisis and before Detroit team.
here is my list of who i count as important.

original 7 : Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman - Mego made.
Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter - need as customs.

recruits 9 : Green Arrow - Mego made.
Atom, Hawkman, Black Canary, Elongated Man, Red Tornado,
Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Firestorm - need as customs

detroit 4 : Vixen, Gypsy - Maybe. Steel, Vibe - No way

honorary members : Phantom Stranger, Snapper Carr, Adam Strange,
Metamorpho

Or do you have to have members added after crisis :
Dr. Fate, Dr. Light, Guy Gardner, Blue Beetle, Captain Marvel, Booster Gold,
Mister Miracle, Big Barda, Fire, Ice.

I won't consider my league complete until I have customs of Ambush Bug and G'Nort

I went up until the era of Vixen, Vibe et al, and then I quit. Do have customs of Dr. Fate and Mister Miracle, and some of the others, but I think of those as JSA, New Gods, etc. Seems to jibe generally when the era when I stopped reading comics, though oddly, my X-Men - which include Gambit, Rogue, etc — customs do not.

Do the original 7 and the recruits from the Silver Age and the honorary's. The Detroit era is forgettable at best. Beetle and Captain Atom might belong and I would have liked to have seen DC retrofit thm into the original Silver age League after Crisis.

I would like to complete the "Satellite Era" JLA but there are a couple of members that I would/will pass on like Red Tornado, Elongated Man, and Martian Manhunter.

My current Mego JLA membership is Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Green Arrow. I intend on adding Wonder Woman and Hawkman soon. Maybe Black Canary and Hawkgirl. And that might do it for me. I have yet to see a Firestorm head that I like.

I wouldn't mind Steel II or (Commander) Steel I. Perhaps if I stumble across the costumes...

I consider the JSA and other heroes separate entities. I plan on doing at some point:

I don't need Black Canary or Hawkgirl but would consider adding them after I have the others. I'm also working on finishing up my POTA with all original parts if possible and working on some higher end customs. I'm mostly concentrating on completing my collection right now and will probably get more into the customs as time and funds permit. Mostly it's time right now.

If that's all I had orders for, I would give up building customs.

To me, the JLA is:

I like the JLI, to a degree, but the JLA are the characters who were in the league when I was growing up from the mid 1970s through the early 1980s.

Obviously, there is room to debate this. Everyone has their own specific golden age of comics.

Didn't care for Vibe or Steel. Vixon and Gypsy are good characters but are kind of ruined by association. The only good thing about that era to me is that it brought Martian Manhunter back. That almost made it worth it.

I feel similarly about the Avengers. While I know Hank McCoy began with the X-Men and has been back with the X-Men for nearly twice as long as he was with the Avengers, the blue furry happy-go-lucky Beast is my favorite incarnation of that character and he is an Avenger as well as an X-Man in my book. One of my favorite comic coversand comics of all time is Avengers No. 181. I think Perez drew the cover but Byrne drew the insides

My favorite Avengers lineup would be:

Cap, Iron-Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Beast, Wonderman, Vision, the Wasp, Yellow Jacket, Moon Dragon and Tigra.

For me the JLA ends with the Satellite Era as I want to keep my Megos and customs within the Mego era.
